A boiler is an appliance that produces hot water and is relied upon to generate warmth in your home or business. As a building appliance, it is usually not spared much thought – unless, of course, it stops working and it is unable to heat up the home and provide a supply of hot water. Since, these heat and hot water providing appliances are used daily and are very much relied upon equipment, it is important to make sure that the boiler undergoes repairs when needed and in order to avoid costly repairs, that your boiler gets serviced regularly.

Since most of these water heating appliances are powered by gas, gas safety is paramount and when an approved repairer carries out repairs to the boiler, they will ensure that there are no hidden or unseen faults.  A serious problem that may occur on a faulty boiler is if the device responsible for shutting off the gas should the pilot light goes off is not functioning. If the device does not function correctly, gas will leak into the home or building and this could be fatal for the inhabitants of the building.

As a rule, you boiler should be serviced at least once a year and all necessary boiler repairs carried out, as and when required. While a qualified boiler repair company is servicing or repairing the boiler, a detailed investigation will be carried out on both the operation as well as the installation of the appliance. This will provide the home or building owner with the assurance that the fitment and functioning of the water heating system is safe.

Once a domestic boiler has been repaired, an authorised or reputable repair agent will usually provide a warranty on the work that has been carried out which means that any components which have been replaced during the service or the repair will be under a 12 month warranty.  Since the majority of domestic boilers are powered by gas, it is critical that a qualified plumber is contacted to carry out all maintenance and repairs on the system.
